Phew, a good one
I'm a little distracted, because it's halftime in the Georgetown-Boston College game and BC is looking a little too sharp for my taste. (Plus, Mary went to BC and I don't want to give her any ammunition.) I've actually been sitting on the couch for a few hours--I fell asleep for awhile after a pretty good run and an extended cleaning rampage.
Leilani picked me up this morning on the way to the start of the club's long run at Iwo Jima--even though it was out of her way--so that I could start out with everyone. She and a couple of other Boston Marathon runners were doing about 17-18 miles today while the main route was about 14. I think I did about 11-12 of it, and felt pretty pain-free, which made me happy. I did take some Advil beforehand, but whatever works...We did one of my favorite loops today, which includes a lot of Rock Creek Park and some gradual hills. It was a little icy after yesterday's storm, but not too bad. I caught up with a few people I hadn't seen in months, and met one new person with whom I have a (non-running) friend in common.
My groin is a little sore now, possibly from lying on the couch in a weird position, so I am going to foam roll while I watch the game. Matt was supposed to get in from Chicago tonight but is having trouble at the airport so hopefully he is able to get in tonight. Go Hoyas!
