Me and the snow

There was a dusting of snow overnight and (shocker) the DC schools were two hours delayed and the suburban districts were closed for the day. I had another early appointment so I was just worried about ice, but it was actually fine. I ran mostly downtown where I knew it would be cleared, well-lit and salted. It was a little slick in some spots, mostly when I was forced to run on the sidewalk instead of the road. I ran a little less than an hour and felt decent. My hamstring is pretty much tight all the time so I have to consciously try not to alter my stride stop picking up my knees. The route was mostly flat so hills weren't a problem. I was a bit tight behind the knee when I got back but it had loosened up by the time I got out of the shower.

I got my new goggles today in the mail when I was at work so I decided that I should swim briefly tonight instead of lifting to mix it up. The goggles were good but I think I was a little hungry and I ran out of energy before I was done with the swim. I hate when that happens, but I forgot to bring a Balance Bar today. It was also hard to go out with wet hair, but luckily I did remember my hat and the wind seemed to have died down from the way it was during the day.

That's it for me--I just downloaded the new Patty Griffin album so I am off to give it a first listen.
