Hey, that's my bike!
I got all decked out in my padded-butt bike shorts and bike shirt to go to the gym this morning, and when I finally got there after the walk and the bus, both spin bikes were taken! How rude. At MIT, there was actually a sign-up sheet for the next day's machine schedule, but at Georgetown, the only thing I can do to guarantee a bike would be to get there when they open at 6. That's not happening anytime soon and it certainly didn't happen today. All the other stationary bikes were taken as well, so I had to suck it up and show the world my padded butt while I was on the elliptical. Luckily after 15 minutes a bike freed up and I ran over to claim it.
I think it was extra hot in the gym this morning, but I was sweating up a storm. The niggle in my hamstring was gone and I didn't have any pinching even when coming up out of the saddle. I still think I will cross train tomorrow though especially since my friend asked if I want to run (not race) in a low-key club race on Saturday on the bike path near her house. I can't just think about doing it for the company, though...it still makes me feel competitive and embarrassed that I will have such a slow time for a race. I am leaning towards doing it, though, as long as I promise myself that I will not go hard for more than a mile. (Can I even go hard for a mile? No.)
I worked out at lunch (a little biking and lifting) so that I could get home in time for Thurs. night TV. ER is back after a couple-week hiatus, and Grey's is new again, so I will at least watch one and potentially tape the other. Matt will probably be at work for the next couple of hours, so I am happy to settle in on the couch with a Whole Foods pizza!
