Another early release day
I am relaxing at home right now because our office closed early to get a head start on the three-day weekend. Woo-hoo! Since Fridays are my one workout day and I already ran this morning, I went to get a manicure and now am hanging out at home in my freezing living room. I am under a couple of blankets and waiting for it to warm up, although it has been very uncomfortable at night in our apartment because it has been so cold and windy and I doubt that the insulation is very good. Brrr!
I ran this morning for the first time since the "storm" and saw for myself why the condition of the running trails and sidewalks in D.C. has its own thread on letsrun. (I'm not going to link to it because letsrun threads inevitably disintegrate into ugliness.) The packed ice/snow is a few inches high on most sidewalks and it was almost impossible to get over bridges that had tons of footprints. I did my best and I think all that jumping around made me more sore than I might have been. I also had more of the knee achiness, which continues to mystify me, so I'm going to just ignore it, a very mature decision.
I'm going to watch last night's Grey's (which I taped) and then hopefully meet up with my friend who is only in town for a few hours. Happy (long) weekend!

Grey's was awesome! I can't wait until next week! I'm glad you got out to run!
