Stuck in the zoo
Brrr! It was very cold and windy out this morning and I probably wore one less layer than I needed. My leg did not feel as good as it did on Thursday, but it wasn't too bad. I did kind of random loop through a neighborhood off of 16th St. that I like a lot and then dropped down into Rock Creek Park. I decided to try a new way to go through the National Zoo--one that would bring me much closer to my house--and got to the top of a long hill that dead-ended in a locked gate. I stood there for a few minutes and tried to figure something out, but I ended up going down the hill and back the usual way. That really sucked, but at least it lent some excitement to the run.
Matt and I both had "interviews" with Cornell applicants this afternoon, so we went up to Bethesda to meet our candidates and so Matt could go to the office. Everything went fine with the interview and then I did a little shopping up in Rockville. Somehow all of our activities ended up taking most of the day. We were considering going to a movie tonight, but it looks like we are just going to go out to dinner instead.
