Quiet day off

It was in the 60s again this morning and about 70 by lunchtime. It's like people don't know what to do with themselves--on the one hand, people are outside saying stuff like, "I can't believe I'm sitting outside on January 15" but at the same time, they are still wearing their puffy coats. I don't get it! I went to the gym sans puffy coat (sans any coat at all, of course) this morning for some ellipticalling. It was a Georgetown holiday, but because the students have only been back a week or so, it was still pretty crowded in the gym. My knee felt less stiff and creaky this morning although my calf was tight and I plan to take as many more cross-training days as I can stand to see if that makes a difference with this latest setback.

I stayed at the gym to lift and then went to the shopping area of Georgetown to do a few errands. I sat outside to eat lunch and that is where I heard/saw the warm weather comments/puffy coats. I didn't spend too much time there and I ended up reading and relaxing (oh, and vaccuuming) at home for the afternoon. I rode my trainer later while watching the E! pre-Golden Globes show--I'm a sucker for stuff like that. In fact, I might actually watch the awards tonight!
