Getting into a routine
I have always had this habit of getting into a routine with my running routes--doing a certain route on Mondays, another on Tuesdays, etc. It wasn't like that when I had Alison as a running partner in Boston; every run was preceded by the "Where do you want to go today?" discussion. So now that I've been in a fairly regular running pattern, I have a Tuesday route--my downtown/Convention Center loop. It felt really cold when I first stepped outside today, but it wasn't too bad. My hamstring didn't bother me, really, but I felt better on the weekend and I'm not sure why. One additional annoyance is a big shaving cut on my ankle, which I feel when I walk (and run, I guess). I am a horrible shaver and I just cut a chunk out of the back of my ankle on Saturday. It bled until Sunday and is finally scabbing, but it hurts. I guess I only have myself to blame for that one! In fact, I have an identical scar on the othe ankle--you'd think I would have learned to be more careful.
I lifted during lunch today because I have after-work plans to see The History Boys with a friend. I don't know too much about it but my parents enjoyed it and it is only playing in one theater in the area, so I figure I better hurry up and catch it. It any case, lifting during lunch was nice because I could hog whatever equipment I wanted. I will report on the movie tomorrow, in case anyone is interested.
