Better running weather

I got a much more restful night of sleep last night, so it wasn't quite as difficult to wake up this morning. I was really debating whether I should go running or cross train again, but the ease of just running from home won out. Plus, it was actually chilly out, something that is rare during this moderate winter of 2007. But I was a little worried because my leg is still bothering me--ever since I got the green light from Barb on Friday, it just hasn't been the same. Or, rather, it hasn't been pain-free like I was greedily getting used to. It's not anything terrible, but any kind of setback is upsetting...so I let myself run today but I will cross train probably the next two. The back of my knee didn't hurt while I was running, but the front of it bothered me. I did the same loop I did on New Year's Day last week--Woodley Park to Glover Park and back to the Dupont Circle area. It was great running weather, in the low 40s, I think.

I lifted at lunch so I would be free to meet my friend for drinks and dinner tonight in Georgetown. We forgot that it is restaurant week, though, and the service was horrible once the waiter figured out that we weren't going to be taking advantage of the deal and just order drinks and appetizers. We were completely rushed through our meal and the staff was extremely rude. Whatever! Aside from that, we had a fun time just hanging out and catching up on gossip. And don't worry; we didn't leave a generous tip!
