A more enjoyable workout

I guess the high winds really blew through last night, because a power outage caused all of our clocks to reset and my alarm did not go off this morning. It wasn't a big deal, because I didn't really have to be up for anything, but I slept a lot later than I intended to! Once I finally did get up, I did a short run and then biked. It was chilly but the sun felt really good. I ran by a big community tree-planting project and a couple of Christmas tree sale lots, so I guess the theme of the run was trees. I watched my tape of this week's ER while I biked, so it wasn't too bad.

Matt and I spent a couple of hours cleaning up the apartment, so now it's in better shape. We've been reading and doing various things for the rest of the afternoon and are heading out shortly to meet my old boss and his girlfriend for a drink and then to stop by a couple of parties not too far from here. I am looking forward to walking around without being hot, for once.

My old running partner, Camille, and I are planning to run together tomorrow morning. I've warned her about my slow pace and various aches and pains, so it should be fine, but I still get nervous about running with people these days. At the same time, I can't wait for the company!
