Yay for short weeks

This is the first time I've had a couple of consecutive days off since I started my job in July and I sure am looking forward to them! I am meeting Matt in Bethesda later this afternoon so we loaded the car at 6:30 this morning when I was ready to leave for the gym. I also snagged a ride down to the bus stop--nice! It was pretty windy and chilly so I was kind of glad today was not a running day. The gym was empty and I did my usual ellitpticalling, reading for about half of the workout. I stayed an extra few minutes to do a little bit more ab stuff than I usually do in the morning and some hamstring strengthening stuff. It turns out that I would have time to go to the gym again this afternoon, but I think I will skip it and get a manicure instead :) I always beat myself up over this stuff, but in the grand scheme of things, I might as well do what makes me happy, right?

We are headed up to New York tonight but are in no real rush as we expect a lot of traffic. I think it is supposed to rain along our route, too (it is already raining here). Hopefully it won't take too long or else I'm not sure my hamstring can handle it.

I wish I had a Thanksgiving race to look forward to tomorrow, but I am grateful that if all goes well I can at least do a regular run. Safe travels and holiday wishes to all!
