Week off to a quick start
Four-day weeks always seem to go by quickly at the beginning of the week. So this morning I woke up and thought, It's Tuesday already! I had promised myself I would swim instead of ellipticalling, and to the pool I went. There was a lot going on--swim team practice took up most of the lanes and there was some sort of kayaking class in the diving well so I couldn't have done any pool running if I had wanted to. But I found a lane to split and dutifully did my laps. I'm sure I've gotten slower since my heavy swimming period in the summer, but cardiovascularly I was fine. I stayed in there for about an hour and then I just couldn't take it anymore. I was amazed by the girl next to me who was in there when I got in and got out only a few minutes before I did.
Work was busy as I have a once-a-month deadline approaching. It was so warm and sunny outside that I took my book and sandwich outside during lunch. I didn't want to go back in!
After work I lifted. While I was briefly biking, I noticed a very skeletal girl on a bike in front of me. It was hard to look at her because the bone in the back of her neck was sticking out in a way that looked painful. She happened to be doing abs on the mat next to mine and I tried not to look, but I couldn't help it. She was talking on her cell phone a lot which made me think, She obviously has people in her life who care about her, so why don't they help her? I don't mean to sound all self-righteous, but it just upsets me to see someone so obviously suffering.
So that's my lecture for tonight. Good night!
