First 'non-stop' run
It was quite chilly walking to the bus this morning. I was thinking how much better it was to be a little cold than burning hot like I was in July when I first started work! But the combination of running outside again--even a little--and the cooler, lately windy weather has made my hands all cracked and dry. So there are good things about humidity, I guess!
I dropped my stuff off in my locker and headed out for my scheduled 25-minute run, the first one without walking breaks. I tried to avoid hills but when you start from Georgetown, it's pretty much impossible. I felt okay cardio-wise today but my hip/groin bothered me. I am pretty sure that I need to strengthen my hips and core to work on this chronic problem--and I will check that when I see Barb next--so I'm going to do some research on the best way to do that. It is clearly a problem with my stride as this isn't an overuse injury!
It was freezing in our office suite today, so that made the day feel longer than it was. I sat outside in the sun at lunch reading, and that helped a little bit (but it was also so nice out there that I didn't want to come back in!). I expected to be cold walking home after lifting since I only had shorts to put on, but it seems to have gotten kind of muggy. I think it is supposed to rain.
I've spent way too much of this entry talking about body temperature and weather! The other exciting news of the day is that I came home to find a dead mouse. I guess a dead one is better than an alive one. Our townhouse is still in the "trapping" process of getting rid of our mice. Next they will seal up all of our entry points and see if we can solve the problem for good--I can't wait!
