Dead legs this morning

It was so dark and drizzly this morning, but the loud crying coming from the baby in the apartment below us was waking me up anyway. I stayed up kind of late last night watching the end of the Mets game since it could have gone either way until the ninth inning. Although Matt is a much bigger baseball fan than I am, I was much more interested in the playoffs because while he is a loyal Yankee fan, I was just hopeful that any team from New York would make it to the World Series again. (And I had my first crush on one of the 1986 Mets, so I guess there are some leftover loyalties.)

I probably should have gone swimming today. But I'm trying to run every other day now and I would like to run Sunday while I'm staying at a hotel that I've heard through the family grapevine has a crappy gym. Less time in a crappy gym is always good. So I ran today. I think my legs were heavy from doing lunges and other weight-bearing stuff yesterday--whatever the reason, they felt like crap. This is the first "bad run" I've had since I've been having better runs--if that makes sense--so I am just paranoid that I am getting injured again. But mostly I think I'm just sore. It's my hamstrings that ae particularly sore, which is what makes me nervous.Nothing hurt when I came back and did the rest of my workout on the elliptical, and tomorrow I will just ride my trainer so maybe that will give my legs a little bit of a break.

We are going to Boston tomorrow morning for the weekend. This trip has been planned since before we left Boston--it is my grandfather's 85th birthday. I am very excited to see my grandparents after all this time as well as my parents and sister and some other family that will be coming for the party. Matt and I are also hoping to sneak in some time with our Boston friends who we miss very much!

I'm not sure if I am going to bring my laptop on our trip, but I will do my best! Happy weekend to all.
