A very quick day
I feel like today went by very quickly. I swam this morning, even though I just started a new book and I really wanted to read it. My arms felt heavier than they did on Tuesday when I swam, but usually the second swim after not swimming for a few weeks is harder than the first (if that makes sense.) I was sharing a lane with someone not that much faster than me but enough faster to annoy me. And she was in there forever, barely stopping to take any breaks. (I'm a fan of breaks, if I have a little bit of extra time.) The diving well was free this morning, so I spent an extra few minutes (<20) after my swim pool running, just to loosen up the legs.
I had a lot to do today at work but I fit in lifting at lunch because I love getting it done and having extra time in the evening at least once a week. (I got a hair cut with the extra time tonight.) While I was walking to the gym from my office, a bunch of fighter planes roared past my head (or, at least it felt like that.) Planes landing at National Airport fly over Georgetown constantly, but I haven't seen fighter jets since the days after 9/11. Apparently it was some sort of Homeland Security drill, but I don't watch the news so I had no idea. (And from the looks on their faces, neither did anyone else walking outside at that point!)
It was still humid this morning, so I dressed for summer as usual. But tonight it got really windy and cold and I was freezing walking home. It is stuffy in the apartment tonight but I don't even mind. I love the onset of cooler temps, especially on a night that I plan to curl up on the couch watching my medical shows anyway!
