Tired of pain
I'm feeling down again because it's like I have a second injury. I'm still not sure what this pain in my leg is, but I don't like it. It's not intense, but I could feel it a little bit walking to the bus this morning. I don't feel it while I'm on the elliptical, but that doesn't mean that it isn't caused by the elliptical somehow, because I go pretty hard on there and it has exacerbated injuries in the past (I think). I will try to swim some this week, but I think I just got burnt out on it with all those weeks in the pool. I did it because it was the only option, but I knew that there was an end in sight.
Anyway, I'm in the middle of making us a (late) dinner, so I'll be brief. My day, post ellipticalling, was mostly spent sitting at my desk anyway. I lifted tonight and biked a little bit. I'm reading Smashed, a memoir by this woman who basically drank her way through high school and college, and it is strangely intriguing. I have always been extremely turned off by the idea that someone would drink themselves sick, but it's like a bad accident scene...I can't look away. This is all to say that reading it passes the time on the bike! Unfortunately, the print is too small to read on the elliptical...
OK, dinner and to bed!

Becky, why don't you take some time off and give your knee a break? Maybe taking a week's worth of rest will allow the tissues to heal and strengthen a bit without the constant, daily stress of ellipticalling? I hate to see you reinjure yourself after all the time you have spent recooperating. I know that not working out would be hard for you mentally, but it seems like your body is crying out for a break!

I'm sorry to hear about your poor knee. I hope things can turn around for you. You got me interested in that book, but first I have to finish the two that are about a week overdue from the library!
