Back to labor day

It's always hard to get back to work after a long weekend, but especially hard when it's pouring outside! I felt like it was the middle of the night when I woke up this morning since it was so dark out. Luckily I was scheduled to drive to work today. Even walking across campus to the gym got me soaked--the puddles were everywhere. I was wearing sandals so it was easy enough to dry off my feet once I got inside the gym and it felt great to put on my dry sneakers. My feet stayed cold for the first ten minutes that I was on the elliptical, though.

My workout was fine, nothing special. It was hot in there as usual and I wished I had a little TV to watch like I did yesterday during my workout. But aside from that, everything was status quo.

The work day flew by today. That's another thing about the Tuesday after a long weekend--there's usually plenty of work to tide you over. We also had a goodbye party for someone who is leaving, so that broke up the day. I was psyched because someone baked red velvet cupcakes with homemade vanilla frosting. Yum!

Tonight I lifted, but I was dragging a bit so I didn't stay too long. I'm feeling very sleepy now after eating dinner. Matt leaves very early in the morning (his birthday!) to spend a few days at his firm's L.A. office, so I will be helping him pack--at least with suggestions since I'll probably be half asleep when he gets around to it. I am meeting him in L.A. on Friday for a quick--and probably tiring--weekend trip. Unfortunately we aren't coming back on the same flight, either. But it should be a fun couple of days nonetheless!
