More Midwest travels
Now I'm writing from Minneapolis, where we're spending the night with a friend of Matt's from college, his wife and their new baby. We arrived here in the late afternoon after leaving Eagle River in the late morning. I must admit that I slept for much of the ride, so I am very grateful to Matt for having done all that driving. I tried to stay awake as much as I could, but I wasn't very successful!
My only workout option this morning was the one ghetto elliptical-ish machine that the hotel had. It was some sort of Nordic Track thing that I had never seen before. When I first got on the machine, I started doing my usual elliptical pace and slipped right off! I think the bottoms of my sneakers were a little wet from walking through the grass and that's why I fell, but it freaked me out. It took a while, but I did get accustomed to the machine and got in a workout. Not the best one in the world nor the most comfortable, but a workout nonetheless.
We had donuts and coffee at the bride's mother's house before leaving and then we headed back to Minneapolis. We ate dinner here and played with the baby (so cute!) and caught up with our friends. It was a nice evening. Our flight tomorrow doesn't leave until about 2pm so we will probably explore the city a little bit. I just keep wondering where the members of Team USA Minnesota train around here...I think I'll look it up before I go to bed.
