Easing back into the working world (not the running world)

I was the second person in the pool this morning, getting there right behind an older lady as soon as the doors opened. I forgot my "workout" sheet so I had to just swim straight, but that was probably for the best since I was in a hurry. But I felt really tired this morning and never really got into a rhythm. Maybe because it was early, or maybe it was just one of those days. As for my knee, it's been staying the same despite my lack of ellipticalling. I don't have a PT appointment for this week because Barb is booked, but she said she will call if she gets a cancellation. I hope she does! The worst thing about this injury is that it's been hard to walk around for so long now. I don't have that much walking as part of my commute, but enough so that I notice.

Speaking of my commute, I forgot about how much traffic there would be on my bus route this morning. We literally sat on the bus waiting to get through Dupont Circle for 20 minutes. It was maddening. But it was better than driving in that traffic. Matt's commute to Bethesda also took him a little bit longer than he expected, but he actually got out of the apartment pretty early whereas I was running around like mad after I got back from the pool and left at the last possible minute.

I had a good first day at work. I got introduced to a lot of people and learned about some of the things I'll be doing on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. Tomorrow I've got an orientation in the morning and some events/meetings in the afternoon so I think the day will go by even more quickly.

I stopped by the gym to lift on my way back from work and it was extremely crowded, but I did my thing and got out of there. I feel like we just ate dinner, and now it's almost bedtime...such is life in the real world!
