Back to D.C.

I'm sitting on the plane waiting to take off for yet another trip to D.C.--this time solo and for job-seeking rather than apartment-seeking purposes. I've got an interview tomorrow and hopefully my other potential interview/informational meeting prospects will come through. By the time I post this, I'll be back at my sister-in-law's apartment, my home away from home very often recently!

This morning I finally met up with Alison after what seems like a really long time, probably about a month. She was amenable to the suggestion that we cross-train together, so headed to the MIT gym. I stubbornly wanted to try run/walking again and we did that for about 10 minutes. My knee was not feeling so good, unfortunately. Then we hit the pool for swimming (me) and pool running (Alison). It's too bad you can't converse while swimming. I would have pool run too but the exaggerated running motion hurts me a lot. In any case, we got to at least catch up a little and even having company in my lane makes the time go by faster.

I didn't have much time for anything else before we had to leave for the airport. I did some interview prep, rode the trainer for about 25 minutes and just hung out. OK, we're supposed to turn off all electronic equipment so I must go!

[Update: We sat on the runway for FOUR HOURS and I only just arrived in DC...what a night!]

Hi, my Love! Your flight sounds horrible, but I am confident it will be worth the experience over the next few days. Poker summary: up $10. Not great, but not bad either. Can't wait to see you Friday.

So what Matt is really saying here is that you don't need a job, because his poker earning are enough for both of you to get by. Kind of like P and me and the money we find on the ground. Good luck finding a job anyway!

I'm sorry it took so long to get there. I had trouble flying out of Boston on my last trip, too, but at least we were sitting in the terminal, not on the plane.

Have a good time in DC!
