Wettest run EVER
I truly can't believe how long it's been raining here. I woke up to the sound of pouring rain and was really dreading going outside, especially having gotten soaked yesterday. But I had a lot to do today (still do, so this will be quick) so I put on my hat and a rain jacket and confronted the elements. It wasn't even the rain that was so bad; it was more the puddles/flooding on the sidewalk and roads. In Harvard Square, it was better to run on the roads than the cobblestone sidewalks, but it was different depending on where I was and whether a car was going to come and drown me in a huge splash. I ended up down by the river where (foot and automobile) traffic was scarce but there were huge, impassable puddles. It was also very windy, and the temperature hasn't gotten out of the 40s today. In some ways, I enjoyed being hard core and knowing that this is my last New England "spring" so I probably won't see weather like this for a long time, but even those feelings got old after about 40 minutes, so I turned for home and only did about 6 or 7 miles.
My legs felt a little tired but okay after yesterday's half marathon, although since I've been home sitting at my computer the back of my knee has been really stiff. Ideally I would have liked to swim or lift tonight but I am still not finished with a project that is due tomorrow so that was definitely out of the question. I have one page to go and I would love to be able to watch my HBO shows tonight, so I am going to put the pedal to the medal in the next hour!
