Starting to pack up
I rode my bike trainer this morning for about an hour and a half while watching Regis and Kelly (although it was Donald Trump and Kelly today for some reason) and part of one of my all-time favorite movies, Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Despite the entertainment--and conversations with Matt, who was up and about for most of the time I was on the bike--the time passed slowly and my butt hurt. I think my knee is almost ready for some running, but I've put in all this time already so I don't want to set myself back.
We started packing up our apartment today despite the fact that we still haven't signed a lease anywhere in DC yet! Actually, today was more of a cleaning up day. We now have several bags of clothes, shoes and coats to donate to charity.
I went for a massage today, but it wasn't exactly what I anticipated. I called this massage school in Watertown last week having heard good things about them, but I made sure to schedule an appointment with one of the professional therapists, not the students. I got lost on the way there today and was not happy to hear that the receptionist who scheduled me had made a mistake and scheduled me with a student. The plus side was that it was only $20 (for an hour!) I explained to the student about my knee and she said she would be careful. I think she was too careful--the massage was relaxing, but I don't think it worked out any of the tightness in my hamstring. Oh, well!
Tonight Matt and I walked to Davis Sq. (about a mile and a half each way) for dinner. We rarely go there and we got a table outside just as the temperature was cooling down, so it was nice. We might as well take advantage of the "cool" weather while we can as it was 95 in DC again today...
