Good evening for a light workout
Once again I'm pressed for time, so this is going to be quick. It wasn't too hard to get out the door this morning for a quick run since it was sunny and warm. (Well, probably in the low 50s--comfortable.) For me, t-shirt and shorts weather. It got kind of overcast and windy later in the day, so I was expecting to be cold like last week at track. But while I was home between my class and track for a couple of hours, the sun actually came out again. It turned out to be a very nice evening for our final pre-Boston track workout.
A lot of people in the club are running the marathon, so our coach had us do something at close to marathon pace and just getting a little faster. I did this workout before the NYCM too, but I did it by myself. It was much more fun with a group. We did 6 consecutive 800s, starting out at goal marathon pace and cutting 4 seconds off each one. Wynne and I were careful not to get sucked into going too fast--it was very difficult when people were totally not running their marathon paces. We probably started out a little fast, but we consistently got a little bit quicker and it never felt like we were running too hard. Don't get me wrong, I was glad to be finished, but it didn't leave my legs hurting or anything. I think it served its purpose.
I'm sleepy now but I have a homework assignment to do. I know that it shouldn't take too long, but I agonize over these things so I'm sure it will. Fun times ahead!
