The hip that wouldn't crack

I woke up surprised that my legs felt as fine as they did, considering my track times last night were pretty fast (for me). I felt okay on the 10 minute run over to meet Alison in one of our usual meeting spots, and then as soon as we started running again, I got this strange cramp/pain in my hip/groin (but different from last week's groin pain because it was more on the outside.) I felt like some joint had to crack, but no matter which way I stretched, nothing was working. I ended up being in pain for most of the run--basically feeling like my range of motion was limited. My hip did start to feel better toward the end of our run, but I was freaking out because I haven't felt that bad on a run in quite some time. As Alison reminded me, this is the time that I got injured last year during Boston training, so I definitely do owe it to myself to be careful. I've been stretching it and using the heating pad throughout the day and I hope it feels a little better tomorrow.

Incorporated into all that stretching and foam rolling was a little biking and lifting, but I was careful not to do the lifting things that bother my groin. (There are more than you may think!) After the gym I had class in the afternoon and now I'm here trying to get focused and actually do some work. I have been the worst procrastinator lately. It must be a sign that it's almost spring break!
