Saran wrap barometer
I knew I needed to pick up some coffee cream on the way home from my run this morning, so I wrapped a five dollar bill in Saran wrap and tucked it in my sports bra. This technique usually works just fine during the winter months. But it was really muggy again this morning! I shouldn't have worn a long sleeve shirt, but the temperature was supposedly 45 or something when I left. I was super-sweaty the whole time (I'm talking I had to wring out my shirt at a point) and by the time I got to the store at the end of the run, the five dollar bill was completely soaked despite my plastic wrap job. The cashier was kind of grossed out, but at least he wasn't obnoxious about it!
I ended up running one of my Charles River loops. It's about two and a half miles to the beginning of the Esplanade at the Museum of Science, and from there I ran on the Boston side and came back over the BU bridge and through Cambridge. Besides the humidity, I didn't feel too terrible. My legs were a little tired from my long run but not too bad.
We are having some people over to watch the Superbowl, so I spent most of the day cleaning and shopping for that. I did run over to the gym to lift very briefly, but I felt crappy on the way back. I hardly ever do that (run to the gym and lift) because this always happens--I run out of energy on the way back and end up having to walk. It wasn't quite that bad today, but very unpleasant.
I must go get ready for my guests!
