Groundhog Day already?
Since my mom is an elementary school teacher, we always used to know when Groundhog Day was coming up. It's a big deal in first grade! I like to know if we are going to have six weeks more of winter, because that's my favorite season. I thought it was later in the month, but apparently it's today. I just checked the official G-Day site and found out that Pux. Phil saw his shadow. But does that mean 6 more weeks of high 40s and 50s, or real winter?
OK, back to reality. My legs felt very heavy in the morning, even though I got a decent amount of sleep, the weather was good and Alison and I were having interesting conversations. Maybe I'm just feeling my mileage; I'm not sure. In any case, it was not the best run in the world, but we went somewhere I hadn't been in probably more than a month, and that was a good thing. Sometimes I forget to mix it up.
I did some work at home in the morning and then I had one class in the early afternoon. We did not get a break in the middle of the two hours and I just started to zone out. I had to go to the bathroom really badly but I was sitting in a spot where it would have been pretty disruptive for me to get up while the guest speaker was talking. I just sat very still and stopped drinking from my water bottle :)
After class I went over to MIT and did part of the distance runners' run with them. They were going faster than I wanted to go, but I wasn't uncomfortable or anything. But I ended up running a little longer than I had intended because I had to double back to get to a bridge that I accidentally missed. I did some strides when I got back but not too many because my hamstring was very tight. I hope I get some energy back for my long run this weekend.
My laundry is calling for me, so I will go put it in the dryer before some mean neighbor gets to it first. I sure do lead an exciting life!
