Surprisingly decent workout

Being back in Boston means I can meet up with Alison for runs again! She (and P) ran to my place this morning since I was only doing a short, pre-track workout. I definitely still have a cold, but it's not anything serious since I don't feel sick, just stuffed up and I have a little cough. The mild January weather continues--it is supposed to be around 50 all week. Before I left for New York, I thought about buying a few more pairs of tights. I'm glad I didn't since I've worn shorts for the past 2 weeks! Oh yes, back to the run--we just did a short loop around the 'hood, although it wasn't the same loop we usually do on Tuesdays because I had a mental hiccup before we started and I couldn't remember that one.

My day was spent on the couch, enjoying my first full vacation day with nothing to do. I felt a little lazy, but I got over it quickly! Track went better than I anticipated, except my throat was burning from the combination of my cold and the dry air inside the track. We did 2 miles at tempo pace, an 800 at interval (10Kish) pace and then another mile at tempo pace. I was 15 seconds quicker on the last mile than my average for the 2 mile interval, but I felt strong so I think it was still within tempo pace range. We finished up with 3x200 at about 39-40 seconds (speedy for a shuffler like me!) I was pleased with the effort and I ended up getting a decent amount of mileage in since I ran to and from the track.

I must stop here as I am off to the airport to pick Matt up!
