'You are hard core!'

So when I woke up this morning I heard the radio people talking about snow, but it wasn't actually snowing. Maybe a few flurries. While I was out there, however, probably after about a mile, the snow really started picking up! It was super-heavy and super-wet, giving me that lovely frozen-eyelash look. I was careful with my footing so that meant the run was at a nice an easy pace, which was fine for today. It definitely took longer than I expected it would! When I was almost finished, a woman walking by told me that I was hard core. Nice--you gotta love that, when other people think you're nuts. (It isn't the first time.)

I was hoping that my classes would be canceled, but they were not. It had stopped snowing by the time I left again for class but I thought I should wear my boots since it was pretty wet out. What a good decision! When I left my afternoon class at 3:00 to go to a meeting with a professor, I couldn't believe what I saw outside. It was a huge blizzard--windy, snowy and piling up fast. Apparently it was thundering and lightning at one point, too. I had to walk a few blocks to my meeting and it was very difficult. Nothing had been plowed, cars were standing still, and you could hardly see in front of you. Thankfully by the time I was done with my meeting, it had stopped. But there's a lot of white stuff out there, that's for sure--more than anyone expected.

Tomorrow I plan to do about an hour of running on my own and then meet Mary for another hour. I'm dreading the time alone but it's not any different than what I do every day, so there's really no reason for me to be apprehensive. But that never stopped me before!

Happy weekend to everyone and I hope that no one (esp. Audrey) has as much work as I do.
