My aching legs
Even though my track workout was short last night, it's been a few weeks since I had lactic acid buildup like that and I was very sore this morning. Not to mention stiff. It was good that I had told Wynne I'd run to her house to pick her up for a last run before she heads off to Philly for her marathon this weekend (perfect weather forecast by the way) because that was my motivation to get out of bed! I felt like my legs were creaking when I ran up the first few hills in the morning to get up to her place...but I felt slightly better once we started running together.
Then I just started to feel tired and I think both of us were sort of subconsciously picking up the pace, Wynne because she feels good and me because I felt Wynne doing it! Eventually we said to each other, "Are we hauling?" and both admitted that it would be nice to slow down a bit. I was still pretty beat by the time I got home, though. I didn't have classes today so I had time to take a little nap, which helped. When I wasn't napping or cleaning, I was doing work. I wasn't particularly productive though and it's going to be a looong weekend of spending time in front of my computer.
Later in the afternoon, I went to the gym to bike and lift and then went over to MIT practice up at the indoor track. My help was specifically requested today as the whole team (minus the XC people who are still on their recovery week) was doing an obstacle course involving hurdle jumping, high and long jumping, rope climbing and a little bit of running (200 meters). It was total chaos because no one new which station to go to next, etc., but it was fun, too. I don't feel like I helped out a whole lot, but I did what I was asked!
I picked up some Mexican food for dinner and now I'm giving myself an hour and a half to get some stuff done before I have to be in bed!
