Just a run

Today was the first day I've had to run early since we changed the clocks back and I was shocked to see how light it was at 6am! I always get confused about that stuff but now I realize that it makes sense that it isn't as dark out as it was in weeks past--hooray! Although there is something nice about going out in the dark; you feel like you're the only one out there sometimes.

I felt a little better than yesterday on my run but still on the sluggish/lethargic side. I'm not a believer in the whole "tapering makes you sluggish" phenomenon and I'm still convinced I'm either getting a cold or I peaked too early. (If I don't have something to worry about, all is not right with me.) My run was uneventful except for the observation that too many people were wearing winter coats when the forecast was summery.

I had a long day of classes today, which I'm going to have to get used to since it repeats itself on Thursday. One class is tiny--there are only 4 other people in it, which is small even for my program. It's kind of neat though because it will force me to keep up with the work and and contribute in class! The professor recently got her doctorate from our school and seems receptive to our suggestions on how to make the class better, which is always a good sign.

Tomorrow morning I'm doing a light workout with nothing too much faster than marathon pace. I would have done it tonight with the usual group but there is no club track practice this week and next. I am planning to meet Wynne in the morning at the track--we will be doing different workouts but it is always good to have company!

Just in case I miss you before you leave for NY - GOOD LUCK in the marathon! It's been great to read all about all your hard work, early morning workouts, etc... And great to see that you will make it to the starting line healthy! Be confident and run strong! I'll be thinking of you Sunday!
