Finally cooler

Well, the temperature and humidity have both dropped (for now) and I am happy about that, of course. I felt a little more energetic running this morning, but my body was tired. I felt all out of sync; that happens sometimes when I'm tired and sore. As usual, my hip hurt starting out but felt fine once it loosened up. However, my whole left leg from the hip down annoys me in varying places at varying times. I'm hoping it will thank me when I start to cut down my mileage (in another week, I think) and feel better. Anyway, I ran today along the river on the Cambridge side for a few miles and then came back through Watertown and Harvard Square. It wasn't raining but it was definitely on the chilly side--I was holding my hands in tight fists to keep them warm almost the whole time. Wahoo!

We had our neighbors over for brunch this morning, which was fun. It's funny, because we hung out with them a bit when we first moved here (the husband is a classmate of Matt's) but have only seen them in passing since. It was good to catch up.

I spent several hours working on a project for my school-related job. I have a lot more to do but I think it will all get done without too much pain. Of course I'm neglecting my schoolwork for this project, but what can you do? I also swam late this afternoon but only for about 35 minutes as I had to go grocery shopping and make dinner too. (Matt did help with the cleaning up though!)

I am going to try and watch Alison and others at the Tufts 10K tomorrow if I get enough done. Good luck to all running it (or any other Columbus Day race)!
