Long day

It was a long time ago when I ran today since I haven't had a chance to update this until now, but I am happy to say that it was downright chilly this morning! It was the first time that I wore long sleeves during the whole run--always a cause for celebration in my book. As for my run, it was decent. I kept snoozing when my alarm went off, knowing that I was only planning to run for about 45 minutes today. When I was getting ready to leave, a phonebook on top of the fridge slipped off and onto my hand, which was holding a glass of water. (The glass shattered.) After cleaning that all up, I really didn't have any more than 45 minutes to run. I felt okay for most of it but kind of weak the mile, I think because I was hungry.

Today I had class and then drove up to Freeport, Maine, for a baby shower for my friend (and loyal blog reader) B. It was a longer drive than I thought, especially on the way up because of the Boston traffic, but well-worth it. Although I was only there for a couple of hours we made sure to get in some running gossip, like predicting who will do well at Twin Cities this weekend! B. is an excellent runner and has continued to run throughout her pregnancy so I'm sure that she will come back stronger than ever. After all, pushing that jogging stroller helps whip you into shape, as I found out earlier this year when I tried out another friend's stroller!

I haven't thought in advance as much about tomorrow's long run as usual, mostly because I've been busy. I hope that isn't a bad sign! Happy October (month of candy corn creations, hooray!)
