Feels like fall, except in the sun

It turns out that we have excellent wireless access here at Matt's aunt's house in New Hampshire. We're right on one of the many lakes here (Swains Lake) and there aren't too many other houses around, but they have their own network, so it's all good. I love how it feels remote here but there are still all the conveniences I'm used to!

Miracle of miracles, the mechanic we brought the car to yesterday (recommended by AAA) was able to fix it by 3pm so we were able to drive our own car up to NH. We chilled out at home for awhile while we waited for the mechanic to call, and I decided that even though I was tired from my long run, the quickest way for us to get the car back would be for me to run the 2 miles there. So when the mechanic told us it was done, I jogged over there and paid the bill (the radiator had blown a couple of other things were wrong) and was back in 10 minutes. We got up to NH by 5pm or so and had a really nice barbeque with lots of family who are also visiting for the weekend. It's really beautiful here, and of course I loved the fact that I had to wear a sweatshirt last night!

I asked around and it seemed like the best place to run here was around the lake. There isn't a path, but you can run on the surrounding roads. I just made sure I kept the lake on my left and it was okay. It ended up being about 8 miles total, and that was enough for me today. My legs are stiff and sore from yesterday and my IT band bothered me for a few miles. At least the weather was great--dry and breezy. The roads around here are definitely hilly, but it was kind of nice for a change.

I hope to be able to swim a little in the lake later (and maybe join the other "kids" in their football/frisbee playing) and also just do some reading in the sun. I know once school starts in a couple of days things will get even busier. I should take advantage while I can!
