Good workout on sore legs
It was cool and breezy when I left for my morning run today--how lovely. I definitely felt less sore and fatigued than yesterday, but I still had my side stitch and I was very thirsty considering the cooler weather. (I brought my Gatorade, of course, so it wasn't a big deal.) It's certainly nice to be able to stretch outside for a few minutes after running and not feel like I'm stifling in the humidity.
Matt and I were both around today, so we made a dent in our packing. I also did some Foundation work and my sister and I got yummy salads from a place near her school in downtown Brooklyn. I'm not really a salad person but this place has really good ingredients to choose from and they mix everything together. It only takes mandarin oranges and cranberries to make me happy!
I got to the track about 10 minutes earlier than usual today for no apparent reason (maybe I made more lights on my walk?) and chatted with some of the guys I've met doing workouts this summer. This one older guy was so cute--he gave me a kiss on the cheek and said he hopes I end up in NYC! So sweet.
There were a lot of people at the workout today because it was so nice out--cool and fall-like, for once. We were doing 6x800, which I prefer over the shorter stuff. On the first one, my group was going so slow that I decided to just bust out and set the pace. I ended up way in front for the whole interval, and ironically, that was my slowest one! I guess people were just starting out slowly. After that, other people in the group took turns leading and we pretty much got 1-2 seconds faster on each one. On the last one, we had to go out into lane 5 to dodge a team of rugby players, so I think our final time would have been even faster.
I was happy with the times I hit, although my side stitch bothered me almost the whole time. Maybe I pulled a muscle. Whatever I did, I hope it goes away soon. My mouth was also super-dry during the 800s, which doesn't usually happen to me. I drank a sip of water whenever I could, but nothing seemed to help. Despite these things, it was a good note to end on for my summer with Central Park Track Club.
Time to watch one last episode of Real World with my sister!

Hey B. You need to hydrate and get your butt up north ASAP!!! I hope you feel better. And I am going to miss my sister too! We live one block from each other this summer and it's the first time I've spent any time with her in about 6 years! So sad....Anyway, see you soon!

I'm glad to hear you had a great workout to end on! Way to bust your group up on the first one and get them going... :) Someone brave has to do it. :) Have a great day!
