Good weather workout
For once, it wasn't super-hot today for workout day. (Of course, I'll probably pay for it when the hot humid weather comes back on the weekend just in time for my long run!) T. was running short this morning anyway because his leg was bothering him, so I just did my pre-track run with him today. We went over the Brooklyn Bridge and came back over the Manhattan Bridge. I felt a little sluggish in the humidity but not too bad. No major incidents, just some good conversations.
I didn't sleep well last night so "working from home" today turned into some working and a lot of napping. I still feel a little tired, so hopefully I'll catch up tonight.
The workout tonight was short again, much more geared for 5K runners than marathon runners. But I still have time to get some longer intervals in before the marathon, so it's probably okay. Anyway, I warmed up for awhile with two women I haven't gotten to talk to much at track but really like. Then we did 4x400 at 5K pace, a mile at 5K pace and 3x300 at finishing speed. I negative split the mile, which is good for me, but it wasn't very fast. I guess it was supposed to be at 5K pace though, not mile pace, so I need to remember that. Since it was over fairly quickly, we cooled down for awhile and then I jogged back to the train. (One thing I won't miss about running in NYC: waiting in the hot subway all sweaty.)
Now I actually have some work to do before going to bed...I'm supposed to meet T. bright and early and he better intend to go slowly!
