Some running and lots of driving
Today was one of those days when I didn't even do that much but I am tired from the effort anyway. It was already really hot and humid when I woke up and luckily most of the route I chose to do this morning was in the shade. Even so, I did not enjoy it too much. My IT band was bothering me a bit again--maybe after all the hills in Rockefeller?--and I felt like I was weighed down by all my sweat. When I finally got back to Matt's mom's house, I was creating puddles of sweat just waiting for someone to answer the door. Welcome to summer on the East Coast, right?
After eating a quick breakfast and putting on my dress, it was time to leave for the wedding we had on Long Island. We made pretty good time getting out there and had a nice time. Of course, since it was hot, the temple was over-air-conditioned and even I was freezing! But we got to catch up with some old friends and meet some new ones, which is always a fun part of weddings (for me at least!)
On our way home from the wedding, we got stuck in a horrible traffic jam getting over the Whitestone Bridge. It took almost two hours from door to door. Shortly after we got back to Westchester, we left for Brooklyn with Matt's mom, who is staying with us tonight and tomorrow in the apartment. That was another hour in the car (though I appreciated the ride) which just made the day drag on a little bit more. But now we're back here and catching up on the Sunday paper and laundry, so all is well. I think it's supposed to be a hot and humid week, so I'm hoping that I continue to acclimate.
