Hot as hell (still/again)

When I went for my morning pre-workout run, it was already more than 80 degrees and I looked like I had jumped in a pool when I was done (I wish). There was a little breeze, but that only made the fishy smell from the seaport worse going over the Brooklyn Bridge. Yum!

My day was very uneventful. I didn't get a response from my boss on some things I asked him about yesterday, so I didn't have a whole lot to do. I have a small assignment but I will do it tomorrow when I'm back in the office. So I pretty much chilled out today, did some errands and set up our new printer. Someone came to look at our air conditioners, because the thermostat won't go lower than 85+ degrees although it's blowing some cold air. The guy said that they may need to be replaced. I feel kind of bad because this probably wouldn't have come up if we weren't living here for the summer, but....we're living here for the summer and it's hot!

I was dreading track all day because of the weather. It took me a shorter time to get over there than usual for some reason, so I sat in the shade for a little while since I was pretty sweaty from the walk. When people finally started to arrive I "warmed up" and got an inkling of how difficult doing 400s would be. I did feel sluggish, but at least I was consistent. A big group of us worked together and polished off 12x400 at 5K pace and managed to pick up the pace on the last 5 or 6, which was impressive. I couldn't quite catch my two usual training partners on the last one (and they raced on Saturday!) but it was still my fastest one.

I didn't do that much distance tonight, but I'm sure tomorrow's run will be a challenge just because I'll be more dehydrated and tired than usual. I think I need to make sure that I take it EASY and not force myself to run more than 5 or 6 miles if that is what my body wants to do!
