Slogging along
Today's run was just kind of blah. My legs weren't too sore but I just never got into a good rhythm--that happens (at least to me) sometimes. I found it interesting that I did a route that I assumed would take me about 1:05 or 1:10 and it took 57 minutes--I think I am remembering some of the slower times (i.e. snowier times) I've run this route. I was kind of glad though, as I was in a rush to get to class. :)
I am taking a class this semester at the Harvard Education school and one of the Ed students in my class is a pretty avid runner. She is training for shorter stuff right now but has run some pretty quick marathons. We might work together on the final project for the class to create a curriculum involving running!
Later this afternoon I swam for the first time in ages. It was a little painful on the arms but nice to be back in the pool. I'm going to try and do some laps once a week or so. It's hard to balance everything, but swimming is at least a fairly quick workout and I can replace one of my lifting days with it. I was inspired to swim again now that one of my good friends (although not local, sadly) has recently taken up swimming.
Tomorrow is definitely going to be an easy day as I am running long on Sat. this week and not having a full week means I'll probably be even MORE sore after that one. Such is the marathon training/speedwork cycle...
