A long one
I think tonight was a PR for number of laps run consecutively around a 200-meter indoor track: 52, counting my warm-up and cool down. It certainly was dizzying, I'll say that. Our "workout" was weird: we were supposed to run a mile at marathon pace, a mile at tempo pace, a mile at marathon pace, a mile at tempo pace and then a mile at 10K pace. (The faster guys did a total of 7 to make it more challenging for them, but 5 around that track was quite enough for me.)
As expected, we started out conservatively and got a little faster on each "fast" repeat and really pushed the last mile. But the entire effort felt more like a tempo run. I was happy with it, though, considering my legs are still on the dead side from Sunday's long run. I did my usual pre-workout loop in the morning and felt okay at first but my knee started hurting soon after. Hopefully tomorrow's run won't be a repeat!

Wow, I just finished a very similar workout. I had never done anything like that before. In college, our guys team kept track of who had run the most laps around the indoor track at a time. I beat them all by doing 100 once, but James (the blogger) told me it didn't count because I was listening to music. He was just bitter.
I hope your legs start feeling more springy soon!

My indoor lap PR (as sick as it is) I believe is around 70-80. Sounds like you are getting to be in excellent shape if the workout felt like a tempo run - way to go!
