Somebody bring my legs back to life!

You know you're in for a sub-par run when your legs hurt just getting out of bed. Probably due to the fact that yesterday's run was my longest in quite some time, my legs were super-stiff and my hamstrings were sore. I was relieved to see an email from one of my training partners saying she felt the same way! Running long on Sunday and then hard on Tuesday at track is hard to get used to and both of us are worried about the workout tomorrow.

My legs did loosen up some on my run, but I was definitely dragging. And my IT band was really tight, probably because I didn't stretch so well after the run yesterday. I used the foam roller before I went to bed, but by that point it was probably too late to loosen me up. Anyway, I was still pretty stiff and sore walking around today and hoped that biking would loosen me up. The gym was nuts (I think today is the first official day of Spring semester for MIT as well) and I had a little confrontation with a guy about being signed up for the bike he was on. I love the MIT gym, but no one at Washington Sports Club, my old gym, ever was on the bikes except me.

Anyway, biking did help, but I had to cut the lifting short because I was so low blood sugar. I probably didn't eat enough for lunch and I just knew the only thing that would make me feel better was the Powerbar in my locker. I guess I could have brought it back up to the gym but I was dreaming of dinner by that point.

I had my first class of the new semester today and it seems like it will be a good one (it's easy to say that before getting the first assignment.) Tomorrow is a long(er) day but hopefully I'll be disciplined tonight to get to bed after The Bachelorette!
