Last (long) run of the year

I was supposed to run 15+ this morning but I got tired out by the hills at the end and only did 13 or so. I felt good when I finished, though, which made me happy. I felt really out of it for the first half hour running but luckily I brought my Gatorade with me and several gulps of that seemed to improve the way I felt. I decided to run around my parents' house instead of going to Rockefeller because I knew it would be hilly and I was kind of in a rush. None of it was particularly scenic, but I did get a few miles in on a nice (flat!) bike path that has been built since I moved away.

I wore shorts and a t-shirt this morning--it was already in the mid-40s--and one guy yelled to me, "Aren't you cold?" as I ran through town. I yelled back, "Nope, I'm hot!" and hoped it wasn't interpreted the wrong way :) I love being the only freak in shorts outside.

We are heading off to Manhattan now instead of Brooklyn for New Year's Eve tonight, just to have dinner and a bottle of wine with another couple. It should be nice and low-key, just the way I like it!
