Off to New York

I better make this quick because I need to pack for our trip to New York (we are leaving after rush hour in the hopes that we'll miss some of the traffic.) We'll be at Matt's mom's house tonight and tomorrow night and Friday night I'll go to hang out with my family. I hope I can sneak over to the computer and blog at some point!

This morning it was super-hard to get up, after running hard late last night and having to get out the door at 5:40. Surprisingly I didn't feel that bad for about a half hour, and then the rest of the time (about 15 more minutes) I felt like I was crawling. I also swam a little at lunchtime and I was dragging even in the pool. Yuck. I felt weak afterwards but eating a sandwich did the trick!

I did some beautification things this afternoon that I've been putting off for awhile, and then went to find a gift for Matt's mom's birthday. He gave me a tip on an author she likes so I hope she doesn't have the book I picked out!

Tomorrow morning there is a slight chance I will do a turkey trot in Greenwich (CT), the closest race I could find. It's a teeny 6-mile one (weird race distance) and I would do it as a tempo run. But it depends on how late we get to NY tonight and if I can escape from the watchful eye of my running-disapproving) mother-in-law. Maybe no one will notice I'm gone longer than usual...

Happy and safe travels to all and good luck Turkey Trotting!
