Middle/end of the week
Wow, I didn't realize until last weekend that tomorrow is a school holiday. I knew Veteran's Day was coming up, but was surprised that it was this soon. I had wanted to go to Washington for the weekend (since I have Friday as well), but it turns out I have to go do a project for school on a weekday and Friday works well for me. Too bad. So today is kind of like another Friday, which is nice!
This morning I did put on my running tights. Light ones, but I'm glad I made that decision--it was cold out there. Tomorrow is supposed to be in the 60s, though, so I'm sure the shorts will be back. Anyway, I really cut it close with getting out of bed and had 40 minutes to squeeze in a (42-minute, actually) run. Shorter than I wanted, but I swam pretty hard only a few hours after that, so hopefully that made up for it. My IT band was a bit stiff today, which I think was due to two factors: forgetting to use the foam roller last night even though I kept walking over to it intending to use it, and wearing my Brooks shoes (the ones I had been running in) to elliptical yesterday. I don't have another pair right now, so I don't have a choice. Still, though, all was pretty decent with the knee.
Tomorrow I'm supposed to meet someone from my old club to run. I didn't know him in DC, but he goes to MIT and recognized me at the gym. I have no idea what the pace will be, but I am excited to have company.
I suppose I should get ready for class now...the fun never ends!
