Dreary Friday

It was really nice to sleep a little later this morning. I hung around here for a little while, then biked to the gym for a 45 minute swim followed by a half hour or so of pool running. Once I got into a rhthym, the swim felt better--definitely a good workout. The pool running was more like a recovery after that. I tried to do some laps faster than others--having one of the girls on the swim team doing a workout next to me helped motivate me.

My butt pain is marginally better, but still annoying me on and off. It is worst when I get up from sitting.

Today I'm just getting stuff done and then tonight we are going to my grandparents' for dinner with our Israeli cousins who are visiting. I was thinking about running in the Mayor's Cup 5K XC race on Sunday, but with my butt being weird I don't want to jeopardize the knee progress that I've made. So I'm going to meet a friend to watch it instead. I'll add this to the "next year's must-do races" list.

Happy weekend and good luck if you are racing!

Each time I've read about your "butt pain" it reminds me of my friend Shannon who instists on showing me *exactly* where her groin hurts. I am far from an overly discreet person, but man ...

I'm just kidding, really. I know exactly what you're talking about; it's one of my "weak points." I know how easy it is to set that off. Hope it gets better soon.

Is it your piriformis? The foam roller and abductor exercise machines provided some relief when I had similar pain.

I'm glad your knee's getting better all the time!

Sorry to hear about your butt pain. We have been an injury-prone bunch lately...But good for you for not pushing it with a race.
Hope everything else is going well-have a great weekend!
