Carrot Cake

Well, I just made my first homemade carrot cake. I am not too optimistic about it = it kind of looks funny! Hopefully it will taste okay, and with enough cream cheese frosting I think it just might.

Anyhoo, I ran 5 miles today up in Greeley at lunchtime. It was nice and I felt pretty good on the return so I went a bit faster. I finished in just a little over 45 minutes. There is a nice bike path there and it was cool to run by a lot of new houses - Weld County is the fastest growing county in America, apparently. There are some huge houses there, with pretty views.

After work I was contemplating a second workout but this carrot cake took a bit longer than I expected, and my couch was so inviting. So that did not quite happen!

I will be running in the morning, then doing some work - then I will go pick Matt up from the airport which should be nice! Also, tomorrow is my dad's birthday (Happy Birthday Daddy!), then Matt's is on Saturday (Happy Birthday Matt!) - busy, busy weekend. We are getting massages on Saturday so I am so excited and it should be a nice birthday treat for Matt.

That is the news for now!

Yes, Greeley is indeed the fastest-growing city in the nation.

I like the idea of a birthday treat for someone else that also involves me getting a massage :-) I'll need to tuck that idea away for P's birthday! Happy birthday to your dad and Matt, and happy just-plain-old-day to you!
