Sleep
Sleep is the best thing in the world sometimes. Especially when you are a runner! I get really cranky and emotional and frankly irrational when I do not get enough rest, like I was yesterday. However I feel lots better today after going to bed at a reasonable hour and waking up at a reasonable hour as well. I am still at a deficit however and just took a little rest on the couch which could easily have turned into a five hour nap! That would have been bad as I have lots of work to do.
Anyway, this morning I went out for my run around 10:00 which was later than I would prefer but it was the time my schedule would permit. I had a decent but not great run. I felt like my energy level was a bit low for some reason. When I had to run uphill it was like I had someone pulling me backwards, which was annoying! I was dehydrated when I woke up this morning so I'm working to get hydrated again this afternoon. I ran 8 miles this morning and would like to run or exercise more today but I do not know if I will have time or energy to do that.
So while I ran this morning I was also contemplating the fact that because I am no longer in a running group, I hardly ever do anything like speed workouts. This definitely needs to change soon! So that is something I'm going to work on. If I could even do one workout a week it'd be a lot better than nothing.
That is about all the news. I am working from home today and I decided to put the oven self clean on which was a bad idea, it smells terrible! Oh well, live and learn.
