Fun weekend, muddy buddy, sleepy blogger, etc.

This was such a fun and yet completely exhausting weekend. Right now it is 3:00 on Monday afternoon and I feel like I could sleep for the rest of the day! Oh well, I guess it is the price I pay for my hard core action adventure lifestyle, or whatever it is that I do have.

I will start with today and go backwards. Today I ran 8 miles at lunchtime on a new course from downtown that I enjoyed. I actually started running a little after 10:00 so it would not be too hot. It was still pretty warm but not bad. I felt kind of tired but kept feeling progressively better over my run. I went by my old neighborhood which was neat, and got to see a lot of new construction. People keep buying cute old houses and turning them into new behemoths. To each his own but I am not a huge fan of this trend although it does make for interesting scenery. Anyway this was just kind of a recovery mileage day, so it was fine.

Yesterday Matt and I did the Muddy Buddy race, which is a two person relay where I ended up running 3.6 miles and biking 2.4 miles, and Matt did the opposite. We also did four obstacles and in the end we crawled through a mud pit! It was a lot of fun and it was actually harder than I expected. I am so bad at the obstacles! So I did not run very much yesterday and by around noon I felt like I could run again but I ran out of time instead. We went to see the 40 Year Old Virgin which was pretty entertaining in the afternoon, cooked dinner, and there was our day.

Saturday morning I ran a nice, uneventful 8 miles. And that was the weekend in running!
