Hot as Blazes
Damn it is hot here. And so, so humid, which I am just not used to. I have never sweated so much. Luckily for me, I am leaving today, and heading home for a nice dry weekend in Colorado. This weekend will be incredibly busy what with my birthday bash, packing, moving, going to a Rockies game, having another little birthday celebration, and of course running. I am somewhat exhausted just thinking about it! I guess now that I think about it, I will be having three birthday celebrations this weekend. Holy crap, that is absurd.
Anyway. Running. In hot, humid Arkansas. Last night, before our team went to dinner, I ran about 3.5 miles with T. It was a good time although I definitely would not have run again if he wasn't running. It was hot as blazes and humid as well. Luckily there was a strong breeze which helped cool me down a bit. So that was a good time. This morning I was very lazy and stayed in bed until about 6:30, then got up and stretched a bit (my calves and the bottom of my feet are so tight), and ran 7 miles out with the cows and the dirt roads. It was a nice morning and it seems to be slightly less humid than yesterday which is a nice change.
Now I am just waiting to head out, get on my plane home, and get out of dodge! Woo Hoo, as they say in the big city. I am very excited for my first birthday celebration, which is dinner with Matt, my dad, and my stepmom, tonight at one of my favorite restaurants in the Denver area.
My original plan was to go straight from the airport to the gym down in the tech center, lift weights, and meet Matt there. However, I am wearing utterly the wrong shoes for my outfit today, which I would like to change, and I just spilled coffee on my shirt, so I may end up going home and changing instead. Lifting is so overrated anyway.
So that is the plan for today. Tomorrow I am meeting my friend M. for a run. He is training hard for the Bolder Boulder, and I am his coach-type person, so it should be a good time to take him out for a long run and see how he does!

It sounds like you and Blondie are approaching your birthdays in a totally opposite manner. I'm glad you have lots of people to celebrate with and lots of partying to do! I've never been to Arkansas in May, but it sounds hot. I can't imagine July and August. Hot as blazes? Is that Arkansas talk? Or did you pick up that lingo in Colorado? And getting up at 6:30 is being very lazy? That's a good day for me!

Barb...Happy Birthdy my fellow Taurean!!! I shoulda known by your attitude/personality about running that we were signmates. Have fun at all of your celebrations! Maybe I'll celebrate mine some this weekend, you're rubbing off on me.
