Happy running day!
I had a really good running day believe it or not. Even though I have been somewhat down in the dumps with regard to running and whatnot, today I kind of inadvertently had a very solid running day.
As crazy as the weather is here, I do not know how to even explain what happened today. This morning we made the national news with how much snow we got - up to three feet in certain areas although only maybe 10 inches here in Denver - by the time I finished with work around 4:20 a lot of it had melted and the roads were not bad at all today. So when I left work and walked to the gym, I decided that even though I only brought shorts and a short sleeve shirt I could run outside without freezing. When I planned my run I thought it would be about 8 miles - then when I started running I rethought and decided it would be nine - but by the time I was halfway through I realized it was ten! That was kind of a good time. It was wet in places so my shoes got a bit soggy but really not too bad. I finished the run in 1:26:45 or so. I was hammering somewhat on the way back because I was running on a very slight downhill and I was running with the wind at my back which was also nice!
After I ran, I did 10 minutes on the recumbent bike (while reading a Shape magazine they had at the gym - I love Shape! I am obsessed with the weight loss success stories). Then I lifted shoulders, showered, and walked home. I worked out a lot today thankfully. Now I am hanging on the couch working and watching the nuggets with Matty and one of our friends! Good times.
