Blogging Withdrawl

I have been so lame about my blogging lately that I think now I am just going to start over-blogging to compensate. I have not run again since my post this morning, although I am sitting at my desk counting the minutes until I can get outside and enjoy this beautiful spring weather! Yes I am a running geek but what can I say.

I had been feeling directionless with regard to my running but now I am somewhat more focused. Considering that this half marathon in 3 weeks is probably one of two goal races for the year, I really haven't been thinking too much about it, or about my longer term running goals in general - it's more been like 'OK, get through this week, try to run a decent amount, then we'll talk about next week when we get there.' On one hand that is kind of nice since I am an over-planner in general, but on the other, it does not bode well for great performances.

So here are some goals:
1. Run 7 days a week again. At least most of the time. I keep taking one day off a week and I hate it.
2. Do one good solid long run this week in order to prepare for my half marathon.
3. Run a PR for the half marathon.
4. Run through this Sunday's 5 mile race.
5. Do some nice trail runs this summer, I always do these to make myself remember how much I love running.
6. Mountain bike a lot this summer for cross training and because it is fun.
7. Continue to eat healthier food and keep eating less dessert (I have been doing a decent job of this although I need to eat more fruit. I do not like fruit).

So that is some food for thought! I am off to run in 15 minutes, woo hoo!!

Barb, I don't know how you do it all...running at least once a day (usually in the morning), working, and having an awesome social life! Really, you and Matt do so much fun stuff, I'd take that some days over running :) Anyhow, your goals sound very reasonable and I hope that you reach them!

Blondie's right, you have much more of a social life than some of us :-) I'm always so impressed!

Good luck meeting your goals. How can you not like fruit?!

I know, how can you not like fruit? Any fruit? Bananas, apples, pears, berries....?!? Nothing? Maybe try mixing them with your yogurt or cereal and you'll "acquire" the taste for them.

or try putting peanut butter on them. peanut butter on banana (bagel optional) is amazing or pb on apple (not as good as banana but okay if i don't have any bananas) are top choices of mine.
