Almost a Slacker

I was almost a big slacker this morning. Last night I set the alarm for 7:15, which would mean no running in the morning and possibly no running in the afternoon - or at least not a significant amount of running in the afternoon unless I left work at 3:00 which seemed unlikely. However, I woke up a little after 6:00 due to sunlight streaming in through the bedroom window. Now this sun was somewhat deceptive as I knew at the time, I had a feeling it might be sunny but it would not be terribly warm. It is supposed to be very nice later today, like 60 or 65 degrees, but sadly I really don't have time to run later. So off I went, bundled up as usual.

I can't say I felt great on this run. In fact, I really haven't felt great on a run for about a week. But I am mostly attributing it to increasing my mileage, not sleeping enough, and not stretching as much as I should. Two of which I should improve next week! But I went off trotting around in vicious wind (again, in my face in three of four directions, how does wind do this, it is so evil). I have been obsessed with a particular run lately for some reason - I've probably done it four times this week. Obsessed. But I am enjoying it for now, so I did it again. The nice thing about this run is that it's very easy and fun to add on and now that I contemplate it, I think I could do a fairly long run this way. It is also quite pretty as it winds through some of the nicest neighborhoods in Denver. So I went out for about 38 minutes, back for about the same (actually more like 37), and then added on 6 minutes for what I am calling a nine mile run. It was a pretty good time but because of the wind I was pretty happy to be done. Now I am studying up on the material I need to teach on Monday, going to lunch with Matty in a bit (yay!), and hopefully convincing him to pick me up when I'm done so we can go to this crazy engagement party we need to go to tonight, before we go to the Nuggets game (yay again!).

Tomorrow I think we will go skiing/boarding and then Sunday do some outdoorsy hiking stuff so I am very excited for the weekend. Hopefully I can fit a short run in tomorrow and a long run in on Sunday!
